Kanyakumari

Kanyakumari is located at the southernmost tip of peninsular India. It is the place where the waters of the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea meet. The place Kanyakumari is known so due Kerala-Kanyakumarito the temple dedicated to the virgin goddess Kanya Kumari. It is one of the important Hindu pilgrimage center due to the famous temple of Kanyakumari. The multicolored sand is a unique feature of the beaches here. From the Kanyakumari one can view spectacular sunrise and sunset.
At this place the spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda also spent some of his days in meditation upon a rock off the coast. Due to its proximity to the sea, Kanyakumari enjoys a pleasant climate.
The main tourist attractions in Kanyakumari are the temple of the virgin goddess Kanyakumari or the Kumari Amman Temple and the Swami Vivekanda rock memorial. Various other places in Kanyakumari are the Gandhi memorial and the Suchindram temple.

Visit Fort Cochin area which houses St. Francis Church, Chinese Fishing Nets. Later Check into the Hotel in Munnar Enjoy   a comfortable stay in the Hotel.

Day 2:    Munnar |Local SightseeingKE

After breakfast, take a sightseeing tour of Munnar visiting the Tata Tea Museum and Eravikulam National Park. Enjoy local food at a good restaurant. Later in the afternoon, visit Mattupetty Lake & Dam and Echo Point, which is famous for its Echo Phenomenon. In the evening, return back to the hotel and enjoy rest of the evening at leisure. overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3:  Munnar – Alleppey | By Road (157 km / 3.5 hrs) After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel in Munnar and poceed for the Allepey houseboat. Check in to the houseboat and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Enjoy lunch, dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the houseboat.

Day 4:  Alleppey –Cochin ( 60 Kms/ 1-2 hrs)

After an early breakfast, check out of the  Hotel / Houseboat from Alleppey  and reach the Cochin    airport .

Day 4:    Munnar – Thekkady | By Road (110 km / 4 hrs)

After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Thekkady. On arrival, check into the hotel and have lunch (on direct payment). Later in the evening transfer to the theatre to experience traditional Kalari Show. Enjoy some shopping or opt for Spice Plantation Tour or Elephant Ride (on direct payment basis) in the evening. Return back to the hotel in the evening and enjoy time at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel – Thekkady

Day 5:  Thekkady Sightseeing

Early in the morning proceed for your Jungle Safari , late in the evening return back to your hotelOvernight at the Hotel – Thekkady

Day 6 :  Thekkady- Kumarkom (  Thekkady – Kumarakom | By Road (130 km / 4.5 hrs)

After breakfast check out from the hotel / resort and proceed to Kumarakom. Check into hotel / resort. Day free to relax at hotel / resort. Overnight at Kumarakom. Overnight at the Hotel – Kumarkom

Day 7:  Kumarkom

After a refreshing breakfast, leave for Kumarakom, a land lying on the banks of Lake Vembanad, enveloped with stunning scenery. Engage in what the locals master in – pluck huge coconuts and learn de-husking, breaking and grating them to prepare delicious dishes, flavoured with exotic spices! Day 8:  Kumarakom-  Alleppey ( 40 Kms/ 1 Hr)

After  breakfast, check out  from the Hotel & drive to Alleppey & check in to the Houseboat .

Check in to the houseboat and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Enjoy lunch, dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the houseboat. Overnight at the Houseboat.

 

Day 9:  Alleppey- Kovalam ( 165 Kms/ 3 Hrs)

After Breakfast check out from the Houseboat & drive to Kovalam  On arrival at Trivandrum en route, halt at a good restaurant to fill your appetite. Later visit Napier Museum and zoological park, and enjoy a walk through the lush green zoo (Closed on Mondays). Later in the evening, proceed towards Kovalam. On arrival, check in to the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at the hotel- Kovalam .

Day 10:   Kovalam – Kanyakumari – Kovalam (87 km / 1 Hr )

After breakfast, proceed to Kanyakumari (approx. 87 km one way), visit places like  Kumari Amman Temple, Vivekananda rock memorial, Gandhi Mandapam, and the beautiful statue of Thiruvalluvar, and 3 ocean meeting point as Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea and  later return back to your hotel in Kovalam. Overnight at the Hotel  Kovalam

Day 11:   Kovalam – Trivandrum | By Road (35 km / 1 hr) | Departure

After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel at Kovalam and reach the Trivandrum  airport .
